Executive Summary

Fragrance sales rose 9% in local currencies in the third quarter, boosted by growth in the Americas and Pacific Rim, Bush Boake Allen reports Oct. 25. Flavor sales inched up 3%, while aroma chemical revenues fell 15%. The U.S. market buoyed sales in the Americas, which were up 13% in the quarter. The Americas' showing, along with a 10% revenue improvement in Latin America, offset European and Asian revenues, which were down 9% and 2%, respectively. Net sales were flat at $121.6 mil., while net income rocketed 62.2% to $10.2 mil. The planned merger of BBA and IFF will become final in the fourth quarter
