NPA to define “natural”

Executive Summary

Natural Products Association work group chaired by Mike Indursky, chief marketing officer at Burt's Bees, aspires to craft a standard definition for the word "natural" as it applies to cosmetics, health and beauty care within a year, according to a July 21 release. "There has already been a strong foundation laid for use of this term," Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., NPA's VP-scientific and regulatory affairs, states. "With active participation by the work group and outreach we are certain to arrive at a definition that industry and others will embrace."
