Rite Aid launches sun care: Seven of eight items in Rite Aid's own exclusive Rx Suncare line - now available at locations nationwide as well as 1 www.RiteAidOnlineStore.com - carry the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation. With sun protection factors of SPF 30 to SPF 50 and supplemented with antioxidant vitamins, Rx Suncare is "competitive with national brands or items found at high-end specialty retailers in terms of quality but priced much lower," from $2.49 to $9.99, drugstore chain notes. New line is consistent with Rite Aid's strategy to expand its private-label and exclusive brand offerings, according to the release. Skin Cancer Foundation President Perry Robins states: "There are so many sun protection products on the market today that choosing one can be a bit overwhelming. The [seal] is an easy way for consumers to ensure that they are getting safe and effective sun protection products."

Donna Karan Comsetics: The Estee Lauder Companies introduces DKNYMEN , a new men's fragrance from designer Donna Karan's street collection, firm says Feb. 23. Fragrance celebrates the "old soul" and "dynamic spirit" of New York City and targets the sort of man the city attracts, who "thrives on intense energy and creative challenge." Scent features wet citrus topnotes and a heart of spices and textured florals, grounded by a "creamy blend of sensuous woods," firm says. Housed in a diamond-shaped, gray-tinted bottle reminiscent of Manhattan's Flatiron Building, DKNYMEN will be available in department stores in March. Scent will be sold in three sizes - 1 oz., 1.7 oz, and 3.4 oz - for $35 to $65; ancillaries include DKNYMEN After Shave Gel ($44) and Body Wash ($24). Brand also will debut Cashmere Mist Body Glow Moisturizing Gradual Self-Tanner in March (2 (Also see "Marketing In Brief" - HBW Insight, 15 Dec, 2008.), p. 2).
