Negotiations between FDA and the cosmetics industry on a legislative plan to modernize regulatory oversight of cosmetics have come to a halt, with FDA Deputy Commissioner for Foods and Veterinary Medicine Michael Taylor asserting in a March 6 letter that there is no longer common ground between the groups.
