CIR Expert Panel Proposes Parabens Use Restriction, Still Confident In Safety Overall

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review’s independent experts issued a tentative amended report for 21 parabens at their June meeting in Washington, triggering a new public comment period. The panel continues to back the safety of parabens, including a number that are banned or heavily restricted in Europe, but now recommends limiting parabens’ total concentration in finished cosmetics to 0.8%.
